ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participation in wrestling and related athletic activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to serious bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis, and death. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the organizers or others.

RELEASE & WAIVER OF LIABILITY

In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Memorial Day Wrestling Event, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue:

  • Metro Detroit Wrestling Association
  • Beat the Streets Detroit
  • University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy
  • Event staff, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and affiliates

from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages arising out of or related to injury, disability, or death that may occur as a result of participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION

I certify that I am physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation. In the event of injury or medical emergency, I authorize event staff to obtain medical treatment on my behalf, including emergency transportation if necessary. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred.

CODE OF CONDUCT

I agree to conduct myself in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times. I understand that failure to do so may result in removal from the event without refund.

MEDIA RELEASE

I grant permission to Metro Detroit Wrestling Association and Beat the Streets Detroit to use photographs, video, or other media of me (or my child) taken during the event for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes without compensation.

EQUIPMENT & SAFETY

I agree to use proper wrestling equipment and follow all safety rules and instructions provided by coaches and event staff. I understand that failure to comply may result in removal from participation.

INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all released parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs they may incur due to my participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT & SIGNATURE

I have read this waiver and fully understand its terms. I understand that I am giving up substantial rights by signing it and sign it freely and voluntarily.
